I’m Moving On

Can’t count the times you’ve broken your promise to me
Gave me hopes then took them away so easily
Looking back, all the junk that you put me through
How could I ever have looked up to you?
You still act like it’s all good, that I’m your slave
But that roads been walked, wore down and repaved
You broke me down and told me I was less of a man
But you’re not in my new plan

I’ve heard all your stupid lies
I see them now with my new view.
Now my only limit is the skies
Now that I am rid of you!

You can’t tell me I’m not strong
You can fight but you won’t stop my song
You can’t try to hold me down for long
I’m moving on
Try to keep me deterred
Try to shut me out but I’ll be heard
Try to call me worthless and you’ll be wrong
I’m moving on

Looking back through all those times
I gave you everything you could possibly need
Now I see you had made up your mind
But with out you I am freed

Did everything I could to please you
Still you showed me nothing but hate
It took me so long to leave you
Now that I’ve left it feels so GREAT!

You can’t tell me I’m not strong
You can fight but you won’t stop my song
You can’t try to hold me down for long
I’m moving on
Try to keep me deterred
Try to shut me out but I’ll be heard
Try to call me worthless and you’ll be wrong
I’m moving on

You tried to keep me bound, locked to the ground
But what goes around always comes around
You made schemes while I had dreams
But I know your play and its array
Threw every insult you could throw at me
After all that, look where I’m at
I’m moving on

You can’t tell me I’m not strong
You can fight but you won’t stop my song
You can’t try to hold me down for long
I’m moving on
Try to keep me deterred
Try to shut me out but I’ll be heard
Try to call me worthless and you’ll be wrong
I’m moving on
