Olaf, Stitch, & Tigger in a Group Hug

Sculptures

While participating in the pay-it-forward challenge, one of my responders, a close friend of mine, requested for his gift sculptures of his 3 favorite cartoon characters. I decided to do one better and sculpted them in one big group hug. A little time consuming and a bit more intricate than I’m used to but over-all this is one of my more rewarding creations.

Olaf

Sculptures

Olaf seemed like a good idea since I was coming back after a hiatus on sculpting and I decided to start off with something relatively simple. After all what is more simplistic in sculpting design than a snowman? It’s often one of the first things made by children when they first open a container of Playdough. Though obviously Olaf from the neck up got a little more complicated, overall it was a fairly easy make.

While I didn’t fall head-over-heals for Frozen like most of my theatre friends, I did gain an instant liking to Olaf. He now ranks among my favorite animated movie characters somewhere between Toothless (How to Train Your Dragon) and Morton (Horton Hears a Who), but that full list is for another time 😉
